Margaret Kenney

Margaret “Sally” Frances Kenney died peacefully on the evening of July 7, 2016, surrounded by her closest family and friends. Sally was born June 14, 1922, in Manhattan, New York, to Patrick Jo-seph Kenney and Margaret Moran. She left New York in 1951, moving to the Avalon Beach community to be closer to her sister and life-long soulmate Anne Marie (Ernest) Edwards. Sally retired in 1985 after a long and successful career as a secretary at the University Of Florida-Jay Research Facility. Her passions included being an active member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, bowling and later in life, being an avid bingo player. Sally leaves behind her nephew, David (Mary Anne) Edwards; great niece, Catherine Edwards; and devoted friends, William and Marie Field. Visitation will be held at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton, Florida, on Friday, July 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will follow at 10:30 a.m. and the funeral mass will start at 11:00 a.m. Sally will be buried at Serenity Gardens Cemetery. A reception will take place at St. Rose of Lima Church after the burial. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements.
