She held a cherished tradition of hosting her extended family every December 23rd for a big family Christmas party. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Barnard; her sister, Carolyn Poley; and her niece, Sonja Yasurek. Marilyn is survived by her sisters, Jean (W.L.) Hopkins and Cressie (Bill) Tucker; her brothers, Robert (Dianne) Holland and James (Gloria) Holland; her stepson, Ralph Edward “Eddie” Barnard; her nephews, Lee (Laura) Hopkins, James (Vicki) Holland, Robert Wayne Holland, Michael (Lisa) Holland, Shane (Heather) Tucker, Steve Yonker, Justin Poley, and Brandon Poley; her nieces, Laura Holland, Teri (Jeremy) Davis, Jackie (Steve) Davis, Karri Yonker, and Shelly (Justin) Campbell; and eighteen great-nephews and great-nieces. A graveside service will be held at 3pm Friday, October 24, 2014 at Hickory Hammock Cemetery, with Rev. Shane Tucker officiating and Lewis Funeral Homes providing arrangements.
