Mark La Voy

Mark Summers La Voy Sr. 1947 – 2017 Legacy of Life and Service Mark Summers La Voy Sr., a friend of many, died Monday, July 3, 2017. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was the younger of two children born to the late Frederick and Nora La Voy. Mark lived in Virginia Beach and retired in Navarre. His career in new construction roofing estimation made him instrumental in projects such as the MacArthur Center Mall, Norfolk, VA, the Colonial Downs Racetrack in New Kent, and many other projects in the vicinity. Although Mark was diagnosed with liver cancer 18 months prior, he was fortunate to have actively enjoyed his last year with family and friends. In retirement, he devoted his time to community service volunteering at the Holley-Navarre Seniors Association, the American Red Cross, and most recently the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge. Mark is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Lynn La Voy; his brother, David Wayne La Voy of Cheverly, MD; five children, Mark Summers La Voy Jr. of Montgomery, AL, Donna Karen Lee of Leesburg, VA, Scott Edward Younger of Navarre, FL, Todd Francis Younger of Fredericksburg, VA, and Ross Martin Younger of Newport News, VA; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Celebration of Life: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017, Lewis Funeral Home, 7794 Navarre Pkwy, Navarre, Florida 32566. Casual attire acceptable.
