Mary Gee

Mary Carolyn Gee, 72, of Milton, Florida, passed away, Saturday, May 26, 2018. Carolyn was a native of Flomaton, Alabama, and retired in Milton, Florida. She spent 51 years building a life and family with her beloved husband, Don. For many years, “home” was where the U.S. Navy sent them. She loved to cook and bake, and she enjoyed learning new things from her fellow Navy wives. She was a master seamstress and spent many hours sewing clothing for her family. She loved her nieces and nephews as her own; she and Don spent as much time as possible with them until she became a mother herself. Carolyn was also a devoted daughter to her parents. She was a dedicated and loving Mom and Gome (Grandma). Her strength and fierce love for her family has made a lifetime of memories that her loved ones hold dear. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Mathis; and parents, Jay Creamer and Essie Lee Tedder. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Gee, of Milton, Florida; her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Paul Melder, of Pace, Florida; three grandchildren, Garrett, Jace, and Alyssa Marie; two sisters, Judy Yarborough and Joyce Burke, of Orange, Texas; seven nieces and nephews; and many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral Services for Carolyn Gee will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton with Pastor Benny Stokes officiating. Burial will follow services in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home Directing. Family visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.; and public visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., prior to the services. The family wishes to thank the staff of Select Specialty Hospital of Pensacola with a special thanks to Dr. Bautista and the “Shannons” for the love and care given to her and her family during her last days.
