Mary B. Pinckard Gregory 1924-2011 Mary B. Pinckard Gregory passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011. She was born on May 19, 1924, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in DeFuniak Springs. She graduated from Walton High School and Florida State College for Women (FSU). Mary worked at Warner-Robbins Air Force Base during WWII where she met her future husband, Dr. Ben T. Gregory. They lived in Okolona, Mississippi, after the war and then moved to Pensacola, Florida, in 1962 where Ben established his medical practice. Mary was a devoted housewife and mother and volunteered for many organizations including the Pensacola Garden Club, the Junior League of Pensacola and Baptist Hospital. She also earned a private pilot license and accompanied her husband on many enjoyable trips. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ben T. Gregory; her father, John Pinckard; her mother, Annie Lou Davis Pinckard; and brother, John Pinckard, Jr. She is survived by sons, Scott Gregory; Brian (Deborah) Gregory; daughter, Robin (Jim) Doane; grandchildren, Sean Gregory, Mariah Kloess, Ariel Gregory, Ian Doane, Jenna Doane, and Lauren Doane; sister, Dorothy Reeves of Blue Water Bay, Florida; and brother, E.D.(Mary) Pinckard of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, November 10 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Pace with Rev. Charlie Elliott, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00am on Thursday prior to services. Private graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, November 10 at Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs Florida.
