Mary Krebs Milton, Florida Obituary

Mary Krebs

Mary “Patsy” Cosby Krebs, 85, of Bagdad, Florida, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on April 1, 2018, at 5:23 p.m. Mary had a long and full life. She was born December 8, 1932, in Preston, Georgia, to Carl Fletcher “Boo” Cosby, a farmer and sheriff of Webster County Georgia, and Anna Revell Cosby. She graduated from Plains High School before starting work as a telephone operator for Southern Bell in Columbus, Georgia. She later transferred to Miami, Florida, where she met and married Thomas R. Krebs. Mary and her family, that had grown to include two sons and a daughter, Richard, Michael, and Jill, moved to Pensacola, Florida, in 1966 before eventually moving to Milton in 1969. Mary retired from AT&T where she'd become a supervisor of long-distance operators in 1986 after 34 years of service, and she and Tom started Krebs' Antiques out of their love for antique furniture. She spent retirement doing all the things she loved, gardening, frequenting estate sales, traveling to Europe, Asia, and South America, and spending time with her grandchildren. She kept busy coordinating estate sales with a good friend, delivering phone books, volunteer work, judging antiques at the Pensacola Interstate Fair, and serving on an advisory board of Telco Federal Credit Union. Tom and Mary were longtime members of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church where she collected many honorary grandchildren while serving in the church nursery. Together she and Tom were involved in many organizations. They were members of The Camelia Club of Pensacola, The Antique Dealers Association, the Bagdad Village Preservation Association and the Pioneers of America. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R Krebs; parents, Carl and Anna Cosby; a brother, Julian F Cosby, Sr; two sisters, Doris Osborne and Betty Cecil McBroom; and a son-in-law, Adam C Marski. She is survived by her sons, Richard H Krebs and Michael J (Ronda) Krebs; her daughter, Jill G Krebs Marski; a granddaughter, Rachael A Krebs; four grandsons, Jeffrey S Marski, Thomas H Marski, Dalton J Krebs and Richard T Krebs; great-grandson, Carson; her sister, Frances Saville; many loved nieces, nephews and cousins; and countless friends. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2010, at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church. Visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., prior to the service. Lewis Funeral Home, Pace, has been entrusted with arrangements. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Hickory Hammock Baptist Church Youth Fund or Building Fund.
