Maxine Pruett Obituary

In Loving Memory of Maxine "Mo" Elizabeth Pruett 1941-2015 Maxine "Mo" Elizabeth Pruett, 73, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 8, 2015. “Mo” was a native of Newcastle, Pennsylvania, and has resided in Pace, Florida, since 1977. She left Newcastle to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963 as an Air Traffic Controller; she often commented that the best thing she got from her service was her husband who passed away seven years prior (we always paused for the punch line, but she meant it). Of course, Mo has always loved her Country, but she entered civilian life and spent many years working in the insurance industry until she retired. She was a very caring person who loved to know what was going on in everyone’s lives, so helping them with their insurance needs was a way for her to fulfil both career and personal embedded life principles. Mo was preceded in death by her husband ACCM, James Thomas Pruett III, USN (Ret); her parents, Waddy John Moses and Mildred Moses; as well as her stepmother, Marge Moses. Mo is survived by three sons, Scott Pruett of Pensacola, Thomas (Michelle) Pruett of San Diego, California, and Brett of Century; half-brother, step-sisters and brother: Waddy Moses of Pennsylvania, John and (Noreen) Abraham of Pennsylvania; Beverly Woroz of Nevada, Jamie and (Jeff) Depfer of California; sister-in-law JoAnn Moore of Richmond, Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Graveside services for Mo will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida with Rev. Linda C. Moore, her niece, officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2015, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel, located at 4777 West Spencerfield Road, Pace, FL 32571. Lewis Funeral Home, Pace, has been entrusted with arrangements.
