Michael Cheramie

Michael Cheramie, 73, of Navarre, Florida, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. Mike was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and raised in Erath, Louisiana. He moved to Navarre, Florida, in 1988. Mike was a poet and a preacher. His heart was in cooking and he spent most of his adult life in a kitchen cooking his authentic Cajun cuisine. Mike was a passionate family man and a dedicated Christian. He had a heart that never ran out of love and he spent all of his time offering his love and wisdom to everyone that he encountered. The positive impact that he had on the world could never be measured, but those who knew him will sorely feel his loss. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Rena and Victor; and his son, Brandon. Mike is survived by his five living children, Melody of Erath, Louisiana, and Michelle, Mistie, Matthew, and Meagan all of Navarre, Florida; his sisters, Tammy and Connie of Erath, Louisiana; his beloved Jessica of Navarre, Florida; twelve grandchildren; as well as, many extended family members and loving friends. A Celebration of Life will be held for Mike from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018, at East River Smokehouse (8491 Navarre Parkway, Navarre, FL 32566.) Mike will be cremated and his remains will be placed beside his deceased son, Brandon, in Erath, Louisiana. The family wishes to thank James Dabney, Judie Pickett, Rebecca Pullum, Bart Pullum, Dr. A.B. Galloway, the staff at Lewis Funeral Homes, and all those that have helped them through this difficult time.
