Myra Rollo

Myra Phillips Rollo 1920 - 2011 Myra Phillips Rollo passed away peacefully Friday, August 12, 2011 at the age of 91. She was born March 17, 1920 in Berrydale, Florida. Myra was preceded in death by her mother, Bamma Louise "Simmons" Phillips, and father Ed Phillips, husband Johnnie Major Rollo, Grandson Larry Rollo and other family members. Myra and her husband Johnnie owned and operated Johnny's Bar-B-Que in Milton, Florida for 34 years. After retiring in 1984, Myra spent her days at home on Ward Basin Road. Her joy in life was to cook and feed others. She also loved to work out in her garden growing vegetables and flowers. She could also be found fishing in her pond beside her house. Myra was an exceptional person with a wonderful sense of humor. She had many wonderful stories to tell and enjoyed telling them. She was a very special woman to many people. There was never a person who was not in her prayers and she would never turn anyone away. One word that could be used to describe Myra would be, "Heart". Myra is survived by her son Johnnie (Kim) Rollo; grandchildren, Robert Major Rollo, Christopher Lee Rollo, Justin Michael Kochevar, and Lauren Elizabeth Linda. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Nashed and Associates, Covenant Hospice, the entire staff of the Fourth Floor at Santa Rosa Medical Center, and special thanks to Jr & Gloria Boyington, for all their love and support. Funeral services will be help, Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Berrydale. Myra, you will be missed by many, but never forgotten. You will always be in our hearts. We love you.
