Nancy Rackley Jorgensen, 74, died Tuesday March 24, 2015, peacefully at home in Navarre, FL surrounded by her family. Nancy was born November 23, 1940 in Rocky Mount, NC to Lettie and Commodore Rackley. She is survived by: her husband of 52 years Lynn; three children, Lynn Jr. (Laura Jane), Jennifer (Lauris), and Erik; four granddaughters, Ashton, Haley, Becca, and Katelynn; grandson, Lee; and brother, Victor (Judy). Nancy graduated from East Carolina University in 1962 with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Lynn Jorgensen a week after graduating from college, taught elementary school for five years, and then spent over twenty-six years as an Air Force wife traveling with her husband and family all over the world before finally settling in Navarre, FL in 1998. Nancy was a lifelong musician. She was her church organist and pianist for over fifteen years as the family traveled to various assignments. Nancy loved dogs, having had two Poodles and three Shetland Sheep Dogs throughout her life as companions when her husband was away on military duties. She was a devoted mother, lovingly teaching and guiding her three children to adulthood. Her five grandchildren were a special joy and light in her life. Her visitation will be held at Lewis Funeral Home in Navarre on Monday March 30 at 6:00 pm followed by a memorial service beginning at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery aboard NAS Pensacola on Tuesday March 31 at 11:00 am. The family wishes to thank her dedicated Granny Nannies caregiver and the Emerald Coast Hospice nurses, home aides, and staff for their love and concern shown during her last months.
