Paul Mitchell “Mickey” Lee Sr., age 62, of Milton, Florida, passed away, Sunday, July 2, 2017. Paul was born in Salisbury, Maryland, and raised by parents Betty and William Wheatley. Paul graduated from Mardela High School in 1973. After six years of local employment, he joined the U.S. Navy’s submarine fleet where he served aboard the U.S.S. James Monroe, U.S.S Francis Scott Key, and the U.S.S. Tucson. He retired in August 2002. During active duty, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Education from the University of Phoenix. After military retirement, he worked for Oceaneering Inc. until illness required his resignation in 2013. Paul attended Olivet Baptist Church. Paul’s wife of 41 years, Jenny Lee; his sons, Paul Lee Jr. and Jeffrey Lee; daughter-in-law Kris and grandson Gabriel, all of Florida, survive him. His mother Betty Wheatley, and siblings Vickie Hastings, William Wheatley, and Richard Wheatley, all of Maryland, also survive him. In honor to his service to God and country, Paul’s remains will be placed at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola. FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Sharptown, Maryland, to provide distant relatives and friends an opportunity to join and celebrate Paul’s life. The Lee family wishes to thank the Staff of Crestview Rehabilitation Center as well as the Staff of Covenant Hospice for the care given to their husband, father, and brother, during his prolonged illness. We would also like to thank Lewis Funeral Home for the compassion given to the family during this time of loss.
