Petro Williams

Petro "Pete" Williams, 88, died peacefully at his home in Pace, Florida on Friday, January 6, 2017 after a brief illness. He grew up in and around the Milton-Pace-Pensacola. He served 2 years in the US Army where he was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and retired from civil service at NAS Pensacola after over 37 years. Pete loved spending time at home with his family and friends, gardening, collecting antique bottles and Indian artifacts, telling a good story and his pets, especially his cat Tiger. Pete is preceded in death by his parents; John Lafayette Williams, Jr. and Pearl Anderson Williams; two brothers Robert and Edd and four sisters, Veretha Escobar, Louise Louhier, Wanda Bryant and Audrey Pyne; his first wife Suzanne Newman Williams; and infant son William Daniel. Pete is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years Mary Kate Williams; daughters, Mary Anne Williams, Laura Lee Miller (Greg), Rose Marie Williams (Stephen Pace); son,William Dennis Williams (Tracy); grandchildren, Justin Williams, Sarah Williams, Greg Miller Jr., Kyle Miller, Daniel Williams and Melanie Williams; great-grandchild Scarlet Miller; sister-in-law Betsy Brown; his extended family Sheri Callahan (Bill), Debby Jernigan, Daniel Hood and David Hood; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 12, 2017, prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the charitable organization of your choice.
