Phillip Edwin Smith 1943-2011 Phillip Edwin Smith, age 68 of Milton, FL was suddenly called to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2011. He was born on June 29, 1943 in Milton, Florida to the late Glenn and Daisy Smith. In the early 1970's he was appointed special deputy under Sheriff Harvell Enfinger and continued to serve under Sheriff Jim Powell. He owned and operated Phillip Smith Painting for over 30 years. Phillip was a born again Christian man currently serving as deacon and song director at East Side Baptist Church. He was a dedicated husband and father and loved spending time in the outdoors with his family hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Dennis Smith and Mitchell Smith. Phillip is survived by his wife of 47 1/2 years, Linda; sons, Phillip Smith, Jr., Dwayne (Wendy) Smith; daughter, Ann Marie (Michael) Gambrell; five grandchildren, Krystal, Jace, Fisher, Ashley, and Samantha; one great grandchild, Jackson; two brothers, Williard (Connie) Smith and Spyder Smith; sister, June (Dave) Guenther. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 01, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 02, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the East Side Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Liberacki and Rev. Danny Andrews officiating.
