Ralph Walter “Robbie” Robinson
01/19/1937-05/09/2013
Ralph Walter “Robbie” Robinson slashed his last earthly bank on May 9th, 2013 in search of the eternally elusive trophy bass after a brief, brave battle with lung cancer.
Robbie served 22 years of distinguished and honorable service in the U. S. Navy with two tours of combat during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, Robbie was employed for 31 years with civilian organizations servicing the USN aircraft aboard NAS Whiting Field. Robbie saw the introduction of the T-34C as well as its retirement. After Robbie’s retirement in 2008, he spent his days enjoying sleeping in; spending time with family/friends; teaching life lessons, NASCAR and fishing.
Robbie leaves behind his loving, fishing enabling wife: Sonya Robinson; his devoted sister, Sally (Lawrence) Reagan; a school of fry: Dennis (Samantha) Robinson; Debbie (Johnny) Foster; Betty (Mac) Carpenter; Joey Robinson; Darla Dean; Michelle Stropoli; Kimberly (Ray) Sandidge; a large school of grandchildren, a small school of great grandchildren, a special nephew, Ron Reagan and his devoted furry fishing buddy, Grady.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, May 14th, between 6 and 8 pm at Lewis Funeral Home, Hwy. 90 in Milton. Graveside Services will be Wed. May 15th at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2 PM. In the lieu of flowers; please make a donation to Sacred Heart Hospital or the Cancer Society.
“Robbie’ would often say “Call me if you need me” and he meant it. We will always need you…but now it is time to land that big bass.
