Raymond Earl Eddy Jr., 80, of Navarre, Florida, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, near and far, on Friday, January 20, 2017. Ray was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 8, 1936. Ray was one of six boys born to the late Raymond Earl Eddy Sr. and Rosalind Dorothy Robillard Eddy. He attended Arlington High School. After graduation he worked in downtown Boston where he met his future wife, Brenda. He then entered the United States Air Force pursuing a career as a field photographer. While serving in the Military, Ray and his wife, Brenda Goddard Eddy, had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Italy, South Carolina and Niceville, Florida, before settling to raise their family in Massachusetts. Ray worked in the Boston area as a CAD designer and tech writer for Raytheon and Honeywell corporations. He and Brenda relocated to Navarre, Florida, in 2005. Ray was known for his devotion to his wife and family, his warm smile, loving heart, and his keen wit and humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Rosalind; as well as brothers, Lawrence, Charles, John and Paul. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda, of Navarre, Florida; a brother, David of Medford, Massachusetts; foster brother, William Dixon of Cambridge, Massachusetts; daughter, Belinda Lee and her husband Charles of Hopedale, Massachusetts; son, Russell Eddy of Navarre, Florida; son, Christopher Eddy of Framingham, Massachusetts; daughter, Teresa Gavin and her husband Daryll of Windermere, Florida; daughter, Cynthia Villanova and her husband Paul, of Navarre, Florida; twelve grandchildren, Jessica Laurie, Ariana Lee, Jordan Lee, Olivia Gavin, Kaeyla Villanova, Jenna Eddy, Nicholas Villanova, Jacob Eddy, Sophia Villanova, Aidan Lee, Vinny Villanova and Leon Lee; and two great-grandchildren, Carter and Elijah Laurie. Viewing will be held at the Lewis Funeral Home, at 7994 Navarre, Parkway, Navarre, Florida, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., on Friday, January, 27, 2017. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, at 6464 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, Florida, at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2017, with Father John Kelly presiding. Reception to follow at the St. Sylvester Parish Center adjacent to the Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice of Pensacola, Florida, as well as the staff at Gulf Breeze Hospital for the care given to their husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather during his time of illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 5111 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.
