Richard J. Spears 87 of Pace, Florida passed away on Monday March 3, 2014. Mr. Spears was born in Philadelphia MS where he graduated High School and enlisted in the military. He retired after 26 years in the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Spears also worked for the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Knoxville, TN until his retirement. Mr. Spears is preceded in death by his wife Agnes Spears and his parents William and Minnie Spears. He is survived by his brothers Buddy Spears and Willie Spears; 2 step-brothers Joe Posey and Pat Posey; niece, Melinda Hansen and a great nephew, Jarret Hansen; and numerous family members and friends. Visitation will be from 11:30 – 12:30 on Friday March 7, 2014 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. The graveside service will take place at 2:00 in the afternoon at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Lewis Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
