Robert Baxley

Robert Earl Baxley 1936-2011 Robert Earl Baxley, 75 of Pace passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011. Robert was a member of Bagdad United Methodist Church. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, Nascar, and FSU fan. Robert was a veteran of U.S. Marines from 1953-57 and travel included, Camp LeJune, NC, Korea, Japan and Miami. He was a Santa Rosa County Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Broxson. He was a 1980 graduate of the FBI Academy. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #349 of Pace, a member of Scottish Rites Temple of Pensacola and Hadja Shrine Temple of Pensacola. He was a retired Major after 34 years of service with Florida Division of Alcohol, Beverage & Tobacco. His is preceded in death by his parents; Robert Lewis Baxley and Alice Mary Baxley. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie B. Baxley; one son, Timothy Earl Baxley; one daughter, Karen (Jeffrey) Reider; two grandchildren, Katherine and Bonnie Reider; two brother in laws; five sister in laws; a stepmother, Frances Ashley of Georgia and many other family and friends. The family extends their sincere ‘Thanks” to the doctors and staff of Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bagdad United Methodist Church or Covenant Hospice. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, August 19, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel with Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel.
