Bob was a native of New Hampshire, and was the second of five children born to the late Dorothy Lockhart Legasse and Alfred Legasse. He graduated high school in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He admirably served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 through 1967, where he fought in Vietnam for two combined thirteen-month tours, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal (including three Bronze Stars), and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After his time in the Navy, he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, Christianson Diamond, and Bethlehem Steel. He also proudly performed environmental core drilling for Layne Environmental Services, S.W.S and Kelly. He was a very hard worker who provided well for his children, enjoyed family gatherings including time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and time with friends at VFW Post #4833 for which he was a proud member. Bob is survived by his daughter, Angelic Legasse Woods, and her husband, Joseph Woods, both of Milton, Florida; his son, Vincent Brunelle, of Milton, Florida; his son, Thomas Brunelle, and his fiancée, Stacey Seiwert, of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, Florida; six grandchildren, Celina, Tommy-Lee, T.J., Kasey, Eden, and Michael; and five great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emilee, Hailey, Hartlyn, and baby Darby who is due any day now. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in Barrancas National Cemetery, onboard Pensacola Naval Air Station, with Military Honors.
