Ronald Carhart

Ronald Milton Carhart, 75, of Milton, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, in the care of Covenant Hospice. Ron was born on June 16, 1941, in Long Branch, New Jersey. He moved to Florida in 1970, residing in Milton for 26 years. Ron graduated from Middletown Township High School in 1959. Following his high school graduation, Ron enlisted in the United States Navy. He was assigned to serve on the USS Holmes County - LST 836. After serving in the Navy, Ron began working on industrial air conditioning units with Trane Air Conditioning. Ron enjoyed spending his free time gardening and wood working. Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Carhart; his sister, Sharon McGann; his wife of 39 years, Barbara A. Carhart; and son, David A. Carhart. Ron is survived by daughter, Robin (Michael) Owens; son, Ronnie Carhart; and son, Todd (Heather) Herrmann. Ron is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 5, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cumbie Memorial Park Cemetery, Milton. Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
