Rose W. Pinke, 95 of Milton passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013. She was born in Fort Lee, NJ to Wilhelmina and Stephen Gefelner. She was married to James J. Pinke in 1942 in Pearl River, NY. She has resided in Milton since 1957. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pinke Rose is survived by her children, Steven (Charlene) Pinke, Raymond Pinke, Robert Pinke, Nancy Pinke (Scott)Wilson and Diane Pinke (Raymond) Wishart; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Pinke, Brandon (Polly) Pinke, Zachary Wilson, Matthew (Elise) Wilson, Rachelle Wishart (Donald)Hundley, Andrew Wilson and Rebekah Wishart; and four great grandchildren, Madison Pinke, Lillian Pinke, Trey Pinke and Haidyn Hundley. She was a charter member of the Santa Rosa Medical Center Auxiliary. She was treasurer for many years and had worked in the emergency room for over 35 years as a volunteer. She was known for providing cookies to the emergency room staff every Wednesday night. Her awards include Santa Rosa Mother of the Year, Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year and received the Life Time Achievement Award for the Santa Rosa Medical Auxiliary. She was a 4-H leader for many years and many children learned to swim in the Pinke’s pool during the summers. She was active in the Milton High School band boosters while her children were in the band. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and active in their prayer shawl ministry. Visitation will be at held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church, Milton with Dr. Ronnie Bearden officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery. Rose’s grandchildren will be her pallbearers. A special thanks for the care and love she received at the Forsyth House. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice, Christ United Methodist Church or Rose Pinke Scholarship Fund, 6002 Berryhill Road, Milton, FL 32570.
