M/Sgt. Roy F. Minor “Gunny”, USMC, Ret. May 23, 1931 - December 20, 2019 M/Sgt. Roy F. Minor, USMC, Ret., age 88, of Milton, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019. He was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, on May 23, 1931, to the late Riley Boston Minor and Onie Ruth Devore. He retired after serving 22 years in the United States Marine Corps, he completed one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He was retired from Sunny South Aviation, Inc., as an aircraft mechanic. M/Sgt. Minor enjoyed skydiving, traveling, and spending time with his family and pup. He completed over 1000 jumps and loved every one of them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Tera Grace Minor; son, Karl Franklin Minor; and his grandson, Marvin Jackie Stewart Jr “Lil Rabbit”. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Joe Sinclair of Boca Raton, Florida, Patricia and Wayne Leigaber of Greenwood, South Carolina, Tirriel and Phil King of Milton, Florida, Debbra and Steve Stewart of Ninety Six, South Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. To honor his wishes there will be no funeral services. Lewis Funeral Home of Milton has been entrusted with arrangements.
