Russell Bivens

Russell E. Bivens, 79 of Navarre, Fl. passed away February 2, 2012. He was born to the late Russell and Daisy Bivens on May 23, 1932 in Vanceburg, Ky. Russ served his country in the USAF serving in Korea, Europe and during Vietnam retiring from USAF in 1972. After his military service he opened Dixie Appliance in Navarre, Fl. There he and Margaret flourished and watched Navarre and Navarre Beach grow from a small resort destination to the thriving community it is today. He closed Dixie Appliance in 1988 retiring in Navarre, Fl. Russ was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret Bivens; son, Mike Bivens and brother Roger Bivens. He is survived by a son Jeff Bivens (Raychul) of Suffolk, VA.; stepdaughters Alicia Moody (Cliff) of Bradenton, FL., Marcia Hogue (Ronnie) and grandsons Jeremy Houge of Gulf Breeze, FL. and John Moody of Plano, TX. Memorial services will be 11 A.M. Friday February 10, 2012 at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel with Rev. Adrian Wingate officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until service begins. The family would like to thank Gulf Breeze Courtyard and Bay Breeze Nursing Home for the kindness and compassion shown.
