Obituary
Salvatore Andrew Corrao, 84, of Pensacola, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016. He was born February 18, 1932, in SantAgata, Sicily, to Andrew Salvatore and Gloria Corrao. He came to America in 1948. He served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Albena Zalesnik in 1957 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He loved the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and was an avid fisherman. Salvatore was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Teresa Corrao Butler. Salvatore is survived by his wife of 59 years, Albena (Zalesnik) Corrao; four children, Gloria (Mike) Groth, Andrew (Tina) Corrao, Albin (Brandy) Corrao, and Carl (Melissa) Corrao; seven grandchildren, Niki Hayek, Darren Corrao, Rachel (Justin) Pankonin, Joey Corrao, Jacob Corrao, Justin Corrao, and Courtney Corrao; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Jordy Pankonin. He is also survived by three brothers, Frank (Nina) Corrao, Joe (Carole) Corrao, and Carl (Karen) Corrao; and a brother-in-law, Jim Butler. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (9945 Hillview Road, Pensacola). Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with local arrangements.
