Sandra Rayburn Milton, Florida Obituary

Sandra Rayburn

Sandra Struth Rayburn died peacefully in her home on Saturday, July 1, 2017, in Milton, Florida. Sandra was a daughter of Martin W. Struth, Sr. and Jessie M. Campbell Struth, both now deceased. She is survived by her son James "Troy" Rayburn and two brothers, Michael R. Struth and Martin W. Struth, Jr. She is preceded in death by her sister, Betty L. Struth. Sandra was a lifelong resident of Milton. She was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1965, and completed her bachelors degree at University of West Florida. She shared a love of English and English Literature with her older sister Betty, with whom she was very close throughout her life, and she followed in her sister's footsteps, teaching English and Literature for all of her professional career in the Santa Rosa County school system from which she retired. Sandra will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and wanting to experience all that life had to offer, as well as her sense of humor, always having a story or joke to tell. Everyone who knew Sandra will also know that her son, Troy, was the center of her life. If you talked with her, she was always going to tell you about him and what was going on with him. She will be remembered as a devoted Mother. In Sandra's latter years, as various adversities of life impacted her, that fiercely independent spirit that she possessed all her life still endured through it all and she never gave up. She will be remembered as never quitting even when things were most difficult. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Milton. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Milton Cemetery, with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
