Elizabeth Fortune Owens 1918-2012 Elizabeth F. Owens, 93 of Milton passed away on January 31, 2012. She was born to the late John M. and Elizabeth Farrington Fortune on June 2, 1918 in Milton, Florida. Elizabeth was fortunate enough to spend her entire adult life doing what she loved, being a wife, mother and homemaker for her family. She believed the teachings of the Baptist Church and had strong faith and love of the Lord. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, William Harvey Owens; one brother, Luther Fortune; and one sister, Gertrude F. Edwards. She is survived by two special, loving children, a son, John Leonard (Edwina) Owens; a daughter, Jean Watson; four grandchildren, Anita (Roy) Schaffer, Larry (Jennifer) Owens, Marc (Jean) Glemming and Eric (Blythe) Glemming; five great grandchildren, Ryan Schaffer, Colton Glemming, Elizabeth Glemming, Ava Glemming, and Owen Glemming; one niece, Shirley Rucker, and one nephew, John F. Edwards, both dear to her heart. Special thanks to Santa Rosa Health & Rehab and their staff for the kindness and compassion shown; you are loved and appreciated and will be remembered. Thank you also to Covenant Hospice and staff for your support. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel with Pastor John F. Edwards and Rev. Adrian Wingate officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Hammock Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2012 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
