Sharon Lynn Mikesich, 73, passed away on February 9, 2013. She was born in Loma Linda, CA on March 24, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Beulah Cox. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George H. Mikesich; children, Carrie Ricksecker (Dave) and Kristie Fuerstenberg (Eric); grandchildren, Eric, Bryan, Samantha and Lance; brother, Jeff Cox, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a cherished sister, aunt, and friend. She loved art, entertaining, reading mysteries, working crossword puzzles, playing bridge, and world travel. She was involved in numerous organizations throughout her life. She was treasurer of the local chapter of Freedom Foundation for 14 years. She was also treasurer for the Military Officers Association of America. She was a member of the Red Hat Society – Bodacious Belles, Newcomers Club, Krewe of Aphrodite, Maids of Luna, and Fiesta Frolickers. Sharon was a warm and generous person who never met a stranger. She had an inquisitive nature and loved to learn. She enjoyed people and always looked for the good in others. She believed that kindness always matters. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. On Saturday, February 16, 2013, a visitation will be held from 10:30 to Noon. The memorial service will begin at Noon, with a reception immediately following. All will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 24 W. Wright St, Pensacola, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutheran World Aid.
