Shirley Majors

Shirley Frances Majors, 84, of Pace, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in a local care facility. Shirley was a native of Butler County, Alabama. She was one of ten children born to the late Hillary and Annie Bell Gorum. She was “Granny” to her grandchildren and “Mama” to her children. She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Shirley is survived by three daughters, Frances (Paul) Fain of Pace, Barbara (Lomax) Wallace of Milton, and Sherry (Carl) Carter of Milton; one son, Benny Majors of Crestview; six grandchildren, Erin Fain, Derek (Allison) Wallace, Keith Wallace, C.J. (Kristen) Carter, Jessica Carter and Megan Majors; two great-grandchildren, Melody Carter and Kenzie Majors; two sisters, Minnie Odom of Pensacola, and Jo Ann (Ronnie) McDaniel of Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Ricky Tedder and Rev. Glyn Lowery officiating. Burial will follow services in Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery in Chumuckla. Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
