Shirley Riley, age 58, formerly of Appleton, Arkansas left this world to join her Heavenly Father and family members on Tuesday February 9, 2016 in Milton, Florida at the home of her sister. She was born March 10, 1957 in Hector, Arkansas. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Gib and Mona Walters, a brother Gilbert Walters, and a niece Mona Hankins Strandridge. She is survived by two sons, Gilbert “James” Davis of Dover, Arkansas and Jeremy Davis of Appleton, Arkansas that she loved unconditionally and her oldest son stated, “never gave up on them even when they had given up on themselves.” Two sisters Beverly “Darlene” Beal and husband Roy of Missouri and Pam Peres and Husband Jay of Florida. Six grandchildren that she cherished Aaron Wages, Christopher Davis, DJ Davis, Dakota Davis, Cody Davis, and Austin Davis. Two nephews Daniel and Lonnie Bankhead and two nieces Misty Hankins Bailey and Melissa Peres Vidal and numerous great nieces and nephews that to some she will be fondly remembered as “the candy lady.” Per Shirley’s request, her body was cremated and celebration of her life was held privately by the immediate family.
