Sibyl Carver

Sibyl Mae Carver was ninety years old, when she passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015. She had many fine qualities in her long life from being a full life partner to Ralph in their many endeavors including property developing, to gardening, fishing, as well as being a talented seamstress, to making birdhouses for so many of her grandchildren and friends. She truly was a member of the “Greatest Generation” and will be truly missed by so many. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Ralph S. Carver; brother James Cameron, brother-in-law John D. Carver, and sister in-law Mazie Pearson. Survived by her loving sisters Jill Earnest, Dorothy Collins, Roberta Oppenborn, Sue Neal, and Gloria Johnson as well as her loving sisters in-law: Mavis Garret, Sarah Allen and Dosia Gilmore. Survived also by two children, Stanley A. Carver and S. Ellen Carver, seven grandchildren, Howard J. Steele, Stanley A. Carver (Allison), Nathan Carver, Whitney Hazzard (Pete), Jennifer Steele, Aaron Carver, Ashley Carver, Stacey Childress (Andy), Stephen Spears (Lisa), fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. All have such fond memories of growing up with such a loving and vivacious lady. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, Florida. Burial will follow the service in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Crestview. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.
