Stephen Carroll “Steve” Metzler, 60, of Pace, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, in Gainesville, Florida. Steve was born in Middlesborough, Kentucky, to the late William “Bill” and Patricia “Betty” Metzler. He has resided in Northwest Florida since 1974 and was a graduate of UWF in Physics. He was a supervisor in environmental health for the State of Florida. He was an avid pilot and flew his own plane. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Hawsey Metzler of Pace; one daughter, Shea McShea of Jay; two grandchildren, Camma Waller and Connor McShea; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Rapoza and Liam Waller; two brothers, Mike (Tanya) Metzler of Pace and Scott Metzler of Pace; and a nephew, Garrett Metzler of Chicago. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the Concord Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
