Terry Charles Reed, 69, of Milton passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014. He was born November 30, 1944, in Washington, Pensalvania, and was raised by his beloved Grandmother Dora until the age of 5 when he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He enlisted in the Navy at 17 and retired as a Vietnam Veteran in 1981. He was preceded in death by his son, David; his Grandmother Dora; and his parents, Ralph and Melva. Terry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Reed, of Milton, Florida; sons, Jeffrey Reed (Cynthia) of Madison, Alabama; Carl Reed of Madison, Florida; daughters, Terri Reed, of Cocoa, Florida; Denise Barrett (Doug) of Mims, Florida; five grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Yolanda, Jessica and Savana; and four great-grandsons that he adored, Blake, Cody, Caleb and JJ. Memorial Services & Military Honors will be held at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Visiting hour will begin at 4:00 p.m. and the service will be at 5:00 p.m. Per Terry’s wishes he will be cremated and at a later date his ashes will be taken to his favorite fishing spot in the Keys. Our family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Antonious and Dr. Dissanayake for always taking great care in treating Terry and taking the time to answer our questions. To the staff at Divita in Milton and to the Nurses in the ICU at West Florida Hospital for the love and care they gave to Terry and our family.
