Virgil C. Wright, Sr. "Buddy" Virgil C. Wright Sr. went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Virgil is preceded in passing by his mother, Viola Bell Bullard; his father, Virgil Lee Wright; and his wife of 30 years, Linda G. Wright. Virgil is the loving father of Virgil (Stacey) Wright Jr., and Jubilee Wright. Also the adoring grandfather of Erik Wright, Amelia (Edwin)Wright, Cheyenne Wright, Kevin Wright, and Winter Wright. Also, the adoring great-grandfather of Brantlee and Aleigh Haynes. Virgil is also survived by his brother, Thomas Wright; and his sisters, Linda Wagner, Carrie Ridell, and Mary Bookout. Virgil was a loving and compassionate husband, father, brother, and friend. Well known for his sense of humor and quick wit, he joked and laughed with all who knew him. He served his Lord, country, family, and community his entire life. Virgil was a U.S. Army veteran, Corrections Officer, private Security Officer, minister, and business owner. Virgil also had been employed at Santa Rosa Medical Center, helping to brighten the day of all he met. Virgil worked tirelessly in fundraising efforts to ensure the construction of the Veteran's Memorial Plaza in Milton. Virgil's love for children was evident in his work with children's organizations in South Korea, Mexico, and here at home. Virgil even operated his ice cream truck to keep putting smiles on children's faces, and was affectionately known as "The Ice Cream Man". Daddy will always be in our hearts, and will forever be his son's Hero. In lieu of flowers, Virgil requested donations be made to the following organizations: Faith Chapel Assembly of God, 8080 S. Airport Rd., Milton, Fl. 32583; St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Montana 59004; Red Cross; or any Veteran's or children's organizations of your choice. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Donald Leavins, officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Assembly of God Church, Baker, FL. Family will receive friends from 10AM to 11AM one hour prior to services. Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
