Obituary
Virginia Lucille Lockett, 95, of Milton, Florida, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Virginia was born July 1, 1921, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to James William and Jessie Mae (Reeves) Robinson. She married Woodrow Houston Lockett on April 7, 1945, in Poplar Bluff. Virginia was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Milton since coming by letter on July 17, 1957. She was a member of the Fisher- Brown-Fischer Sunday School class, and the XYZ Senior Adult Ministry. She worked in the Santa Rosa County School System, from September 1, 1957-November 1, 1999, as a secretary at Milton High School, Bagdad Elementary Special Education and Locklin Vo-Tech Adult High School. Virginia was a good and faithful friend and will be missed deeply by her church family. Virginia is predeceased by her parents, her husband; her daughter, Bonnie Mapoles McDaniel; her son, James Lee “Jimmy” Lockett; a granddaughter, Katie Lockett; two sisters; and one brother. Virginia is survived by her son, Dennis Lockett; five grandchildren, Allison Lockett, Christopher Lockett, Rachel Lockett, Casey Mapoles and Clay Mapoles; and seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Mapoles, Colton Mapoles, Chandler Mapoles, Scotlyn Mapoles, Madilyn Mapoles, Melissa Teel and Madelyn Teel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Dr. David Spencer officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow services at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Milton.
