Wandera Lynell Pitman, 88, of Milton, Florida, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018. She was born in Darlington, Florida, to Myrtie and W.D. Johnson; and moved at age 12 to the Pleasant Home area with her parents and siblings. She graduated from Munson High School and later married Elmer C. Pitman. After rearing her family, she went back to college to earn a degree in nursing and worked in several area hospitals. Upon retirement, she was involved in church outreach programs, including a bread ministry and two mission trips to the Amazon in Brazil. She was most recently a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elmer Pitman; and her grandson, Seth. Mrs. Pitman is survived by her daughters, Terry Pitman, Donnie Pitman, Wendy Hallford (Greg) and Jodie Pitman; as well as, her grandson, Joshua Calvin. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church, with Rev. Brian Deida officiating. Burial will follow services in the Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home of Milton directing. Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant Home Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideons International.
