William Carmichael

William “Bill” Mixon Carmichael, 57, of Milton, passed away on Tuesday, September 23,2014. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, to John and Patricia Carmichael. He resided most of his life in Milton, Florida, and Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Santa Rosa Christian School, then went into the Navy where he served as a medical coreman. He attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he received his Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science. He worked at Lewis Funeral Home as a funeral director for numerous years. After moving to Ohio, he worked as an independent contractor for Plains Moving. He pursued his life goal of obtaining his charter captain license from the US Coast Guard and did fishing charters on Lake Erie until his health declined. He was preceded in death by his father, John G. Carmichael. He is survived by his sons, Justin Carmichael (Chelsea Owens) of Columbus, Ohio, and Anthony (Cynthia) Owens of San Antonio, Texas; former wife and lifetime friend , Vicki Carmichael; mother, Patricia B. Carmichael; siblings, Lynn Carmichael and Neal (Billie) Carmichael; three grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. Visitation will be at held at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Tod Brainard officiating. Burial in Crain Cemetery, Milton, Florida. The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for their care these last 3 months, especially Connie and Laura. We would also like to thank Phil Brainard and Howard Woods for assisting in his care. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to YAC (Youth Athletic Club), 6331 Chestnut St., Milton FL, 32570.
