William Chuites Obituary

William Max Chuites, age 86, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Arcadia Health and Rehab. William, "Bill" as he was known, was born on July 7, 1928, in Coleman, Florida, to Joe and Etta Chuites, and was one of eight siblings. Bill’s father Joe was in the timber/railroad business and had to relocate his family often due to work and finally settled in Pensacola, Florida. Bill graduated from Pensacola High School in 1945 and wanted to follow in his brother’s footsteps by joining the military, but was too young. Bill joined the U.S. army four days after his eighteenth birthday and proudly served his country from 1946- 1949. After his honorable discharge from the military, Bill returned to Pensacola. In 1952, he met and married the love of his life Grace Marie MacMurray. They were happily married for 63 years. Bill joined the Pensacola police department in 1953 and proudly served the citizens of Pensacola for 25 years, when he had to retire due to a medical disability. Bill and Grace, "Marie" as she was known, had two children, Rebecca born in 1953 and Max born in 1959. Bill and Marie relocated to Pace, Florida, in 1984, and remained there until 2013 when they both moved to Arcadia Health and Rehab due to health issues. Bill was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Etta Chuites; daughter, Rebecca; brothers, Rudolph, Milton, Wilmer, Horace and Paul; and sister, Jeanette. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Grace Marie Chuites; son, Max Scott Chuites; and brother, Robert Chuites. Bill will be cremated by Lewis Funeral Home (Navarre, Florida) and memorial services are pending.
