William Franklin “Bill” Hicks, 80, of Munson, Florida, passed away at his home, Friday, October 27, 2018. Bill was born June 13, 1938, in Dasher, Georgia. He was in the United States Navy Specialty ABH-000 AN, AD. He was stationed aboard the USS Kittyhawk CVA-63, USS Constellation CVA-64 and the USS Randolph CVS-15. He was honorably discharged June 2, 1964. Bill retired from Armstong World Industries after 33 years of service. He was a longtime beloved member of McLellan Church of Christ. He was an avid Bass fisherman and hunter; and he loved feeding his birds, quail and squirrels. He was a diehard Florida State fan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Claudine Hicks (8/11/16); his mother, Jessie Conine Hicks (6/27/38); father, Newton Lavon Hicks (8/26/71); and paternal grandparents, Nancy Eva Langford Hicks (12/29/46) and William Harrison Hicks (3/14/67). Bill is survived by the mother of his children, Margaret Imogene Hicks of Cantonment, Florida; daughters, Michele Renee Sasse and her husband James T. Sasse of Molino, Florida, Melinda Carol Hicks of Cantonment, Florida, and Lori Lynn Ledbetter of Cantonment, Florida; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a loving cat, Sam. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Greg Persondek, Janet and Nick Marcanio and Jill Royster. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel (6405 Hwy 90 West, Milton, Florida 32570). Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018, at McLellan Church of Christ (6285 Three Notch Trail, Milton, Florida 32570.)
