William Pfeiffer

William Douglas “Bill” Pfeiffer, 75, of Milton, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Born in Brainerd, Minnesota, to William John and Delia Louella Pfeiffer, his family moved to Lynwood, California, when he was just six weeks old. There he attended Lynwood High School, and was a pitcher who threw a "nasty underhand curve ball" on the baseball team. From 1958-1961 he served his country in the United States Air Force. During that time he was also a member of the Air Force Band. After moving to Florida, from 1978-1982 he was a reserve deputy for the Escambia County Sheriff’'s Office. He spent most of his career working as a car salesman and managing car lots. He retired as a security officer of Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Bill is predeceased by his mother, Delia Louella Johnson Pfeiffer; father, William John Pfeiffer; daughter, Kathleen Deloris Lassiter; and great-granddaughter, Kyndall Renea McGhee. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vicki Marie Dodd Pfeiffer; one son, John Robert (Tonyia Blackman) Pendleton; three daughters, Lia Barnes, Angel (Sonny) Reid, and Dina Herm; eight grandchildren, Pamela Jeanette (Mark Gordon) Copeland, Kathleen Renea (Nicholas Bryant) McGhee, Crystal Marie (Mathew Lee) Mason, John Robert Pendleton II, Payne Barnes, Taegan Herm, Hailey Reid, and Tabitha Barnes; and two great-grandchildren, Levi James Mason and Tanner Waylon Mason. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton. Visitation will be held prior to services from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow funeral services at 2:00 p.m., in Barrancas National Cemetery located at Pensacola Naval Air Station.
