Winifred Cox Ray, 90, of Milton, Florida, went to be with Jesus Friday, December 11, 2015.

Winifred was born January 6, 1925, in Canton, Ohio. She graduated from McKinley High School. She worked at Leonard Bros Trucking Company for several years and also worked at West Pensacola Day Care for several years. She attended West Pensacola Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Bryant Ray; parents, Nettie and Robert Lee Cox; two brothers, Dallas Cox and Robert Cox; and grandson, William Richard Ray II.

Winifred is survived by her son, William Richard Ray; daughter, Paula Beth Rowland; grandchildren, Betsy Rowland and Ryan Rowland; one great-grandson, Ryder Lee Rowland; and two sisters, Wilma Jean King and Marjorie Swinheart.

A Memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel; with Chaplain Dennis from Hospice officiating. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Pruitt Health and Covenant Hospice for the love and care given.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lewis Funereal Home in Milton to help with memorial expenses.
