In the 1980’s, a resident now of both New Jersey and Naples, Florida, Bob held the Number 1 rank in Florida for four consecutive years in the 80-age group, and eventually ranked 9th in the U.S. in the age group as well. He continued to play regional and national tennis into his nineties, and in 2013, was the Men’s Singles Champion in Florida. As always an active community volunteer, Bob served as President of the Morristown, N.J. Board of Education, and on the Board of Family Service of Morris County. He was also a Board member of the Naples Music Club. Music was always important in Bob’s life. He played saxophone and clarinet in his college band and orchestra, was a member of the Morristown Clarinet Quartet for forty years, and played bass clarinet in the Naples Concert Band for twenty-five years. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Bartlett, of Naples; daughter, Mara Jayne Miller, of New York City; and son, David Lawrence (Joanne), of Glassboro, N.J.. Also surviving are his grandson, Robert Townsend Miller, and great-grandchildren Emily, Jeffrey, and Audrey Grace Miller; stepsons, Dwight and Neal Reynolds and step-grand- children, Justin, Elizabeth, Adam, Brian, and Craig Reynolds.
