Dan Behan, 66, of Pace, Florida, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019.
Dan was Yankee born and bred in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! He graduated from East Stroudsburg University, where he met his wife. Dan owned a small business in Florida. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a staunch advocate for children in foster care and a Guardian ad Litem for eight years.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Daniel and Doris Behan.
Dan is survived by his wife of forty years, Kristina Behan, of Pace, Florida; two sons, Greg Behan of Pensacola and Sean (Emi) Behan, USN, of Augusta, Georgia; a sister, Doris (Paul) Wasson; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Dan Behan will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton with Father Hank Lech officiating. Visitation with the family begins at 9:30 a.m., at the church. A reception follows the service in the church hall. Interment will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Woodlands Medical Group and Covenant Hospice for the care and encouragement given to Dan over the past two years.
The family requests memorial donations may be made in Dan’s name to Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation, 19 Iowa Dr. NE, Ft Walton Beach, FL 32548 or nwfgal.org. Their mission is to provide for the needs of abused, abandoned and neglected children and support the volunteer advocates in the Guardian ad Litem program.
