Delores Edwards

Delores P. Edwards went to heaven on February 21, 2019. She joined family members who were already there, including her husband Rufus Lynwood Edwards, her parents Garland and Evelyn Pritchard, her in-laws Rufus E. and Jewel Edwards, her brothers Garland Jr., Donald and Ralph, and other loved ones and friends. Delores lived a full life here on earth. She was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Bishop Toolen High School. She was married to her husband Rufus for forty nine years and spent twenty of those years traveling and living all around the U.S. and the world, as a proud Air Force wife. She was a loving mother to two children, both surviving her: son, Daniel Edwards and daughter, Julie Edwards Hayes. After retirement from the Air Force, she and her husband Rufus lived in Crestview, Florida. Delores worked for approximately twenty years as a Realtor, working in Okaloosa County. She was a volunteer at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Crestview for many years. She was blessed with many long term friends in the Crestview area. Five years ago she moved to Pace, Florida to be nearer to family. She was a frequent and loved volunteer with her granddaughter’s elementary school class room. Delores was a dedicated family woman. She was devoted to her grandchildren, Tarrance Edwards, Sean Edwards and Erin Hayes. She is survived by her sisters Barbara (William) Wilkinson, Carolyn Olsen, and Sue (Leroy) Gray, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Delores was blessed with many loving family members and friends in her life, located all around the country. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 25, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel (4777 West Spencerfield Road, Pace, Florida 32571). Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., prior to the service. Catholic Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Saint Dominic Catholic Church in Mobile (4156 Burma Rd, Mobile, Alabama 36693). Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., prior to the services. She will be buried with her husband at Mobile Memorial Gardens, following the Mass, with Ascension Funeral Home of Mobile directing.
