Devin Robert Merrell, 18, of Milton, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Devin was born on May 18, 1999, in Peoria, Illinois, to Darren R. Merrell & Kerry A. (Baele) Merrell. He is a 2017 graduate of Milton High School and was planning to attend Locklin Technical College this fall. He worked as a boat upholster apprentice for the past two years. He had volunteered with the Special Olympics and Liberty Church. He was a Boy Scout and an Airman in the Civil Air Patrol. He was an avid SCUBA diver, fisherman and hunter. Devin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry V. Glore; uncle, Jacob E. Baele; and great-grandmother, Adele Merrell. He is survived by his father, Darren R. Merrell; mother, Kerry A. Merrell; sister, Haleigh A. (Jordan) Volmer; grandparents, Jim and Margie Wegrzyn, Jerry Baele, Evelyn F. Glore; great-grandmother, Marjorie Hughes; and a nephew, Jacob C. Volmer. A Celebration of Devin’s Life will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel (4777 West Spencer Field Road, Pace, Florida 32571).
