Don Keith Field 1947-2015 Don K. Field, 68, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, with his wife and sons by his side in prayer. He was born June 8, 1947, in Ogden, UT, to parents Harold Field and Hazel (Taggart). He graduated from Weber High School and was drafted into the US Army in 1966. He married the love of his life, Norma Jane Krause, on March 23, 1974, and they had two sons, Jeffrey Bill and Todd Lee. During his military career he served in Germany as well as various bases in the United States with his final duty assignment being the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He then began his US Government Civil Service career with the IRS in Ogden, UT, then transferred to a Department of Defense career that spanned from Hill AFB, UT, to Okinawa, Japan, with retirement in Charleston, SC. His work continued with the government in a contract position at Pensacola NAS, FL, with retirement of May 2014. During his life, he was deeply passionate about his faith with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spending time with his wife, sons, and their families. He also enjoyed time with family and friends, coaching youth athletics and Armed Forces softball, traveling, fishing, golfing, hunting, scuba diving, fixing things, puttering around the garage, or just taking a nap. He was preceded in death by his parents of Roy, UT, brothers Dean, John and Gaylen Field; sister Jeanne Ann Harris; sisters-in-law Bernice and LouAnn; brother-in-law J.P. Miller; nephews Kurt Field and Richard Harris; and great-nephew Joseph Harris. Left to cherish Don's memory is spouse, Norma, sons Jeffrey Bill and his wife Gretchen and their children Carter and Preston of Eureka, MO, and Todd Lee and his wife Jennifer and their children Kel, Keyla, Lauren, and Leila of Gulf Breeze, FL. He is survived by siblings Lillian "Faye" Field, Darl, and Lynn (Miller); brothers-in-law Joe Harris and Lyle Krause; sister-in-law Kay Field and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Our family is humbled by the outpouring of love and support received during this time. A visitation service will be held at Lewis Funeral Homes, Pace Chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2015. The funeral service will be at the same location at 12:00 PM with military burial service at 2:00 PM, Pensacola NAS, on Friday, October 2, 2015. Offerings at the visitation or funeral service for the Jay Branch, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
