Doris Jane Carruth Ewing passed away peacefully, at the age of 73, on Sunday, March 3, 2019, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, Florida. Doris was born September 24, 1925, to James and Emily Carruth in Pace, Florida; and is a lifelong resident of Pace. She was a long term employee of Associate’s Finance Company, until she retired. She was an active member of The Women Of The Moose (Pensacola Chapter) and received her College of Regent. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Ewing; daughter, Amber Morgan; mother, Emily Carruth; and her father, James Carruth. Doris is survived by her son, Carl (Hope) Black; daughter, Jamie (Taylor) Agerton; stepsons, Dana (Kaylan) Ewing and Jason (Jessica) Ewing; stepdaughter, Janet (Perry) Ewing; fifteen grandchildren, Derrek, Channing, Robby, Natalie, Morgan, Jaycee, Elexsys, Morgan, Tianna, Sara, Elizabeth, Richard, Ryan, Shane and Garret; seven great-grandchildren; and many cousins and extended family members. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel (4777 W Spencerfield Rd, Pace, Fl. 32571). Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. A Reception will be held following the Sunday afternoon service, location to be announced. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doris' life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Lewis Funeral Home, Pace, Fl. The family would like to give thanks to the doctors, nurses, and all other staff at Sacred Heart Hospital for the care they extended to Doris.
