Jackson Curtis “J.C.” Silcox, 76, of Pace, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013. J.C. was a native and lifelong resident of Pace. He was retired from the U.S. Navy with over 20 years of service and also from Maytag Aircraft with over 23 years of service. J.C. was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by many friends, especially the girls and friends at the Waffle House on Woodbine Road. J.C. is preceded in death by his father Curtis Silcox, mother Sadie Mae Faircloth, son Tony Curtis Silcox, daughter Dianna Gail Silcox Coulter, step father Clyde Faircloth, step father Henry Mears, and his mother in law Nellie V. Land Nichols Norris. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Mary Abigail “Gail” Silcox of Pace; sister Christine (J.E.) Plant of Pace; Step Mother Beatrice Silcox Mears; a granddaughter; six great grandchildren; and a special friend who was like a son, Thomas Edward Boatright. Funeral Services will be held at 5 pm on Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Pace, with Pastor Duke Barrow officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 3 pm at Lewis Funeral Home in Pace, prior to services.
