Lois Kennedy Obituary

LOIS JOHNSON KENNEDY 1935-2013 Lois Johnson Kennedy, 78, of Milton, Florida passed away peacefully at home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 29, 2013. She was born on September 19, 1935 in Flomaton, Alabama to Wesley and Viola Johnson. Lois was a devoted Christian whose ultimate goal was to point those she knew and loved to a personal relationship with Jesus. Even during this brief battle with cancer, she wanted everyone to know that God was in complete control and she was at peace with that. Lois was a talented woman who truly loved crafting, making beautiful quilts, sewing, painting and growing gorgeous flowers. She enjoyed spending time outdoors in her gardens and watching all the various birds that would come to her many feeders. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, James Kennedy, her two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Sharon Kennedy, Paul and Dorothy Kennedy, and her daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Maurice Radford. She has been blessed with six grandchildren, Amanda Bianchi, Jessica Harris, Megan Matson, Derek Kennedy, Morgan Radford and Ricky Page, along with nine great-grandchildren all of whom have brought great joy to her life. Lois is also survived by five sisters, Jean, Ruby, Agnes, Eulene and Diane and one brother, Sam, along with numerous nephews, nieces and dear friends. Pallbearers will be Scott and Joey Donnelly, Greg and Keith Odom, Vince Johnson and Cody Anthony. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Matson, Daniel Harris and Joel Bianchi. For those who would prefer to make a donation to her church building fund in lieu of flowers, please send to Pine Terrace Baptist Church, 6212 Pine Blossom Road, Milton, FL 32570. Services will be held at Lewis Funeral Home in Pace, Florida on West Spencerfield Road on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens on Stewart Street in Milton.
