Sara Douglas, 77, of Pace, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Sara was born in Tallassee, Alabama, and moved to Pace in 1962. Sara was a devoted mother and wife who worked tirelessly to provide a happy home for her children and husband. Sara also retired from JC Penney after working there for 26 years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Prayer Partners Sunday School class. Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Douglas. She is survived by a son, Harold (Debbie) Douglas, of Angleton, Texas; a daughter, Pam Douglas of Pace, Florida; a daughter, Lisa (Chris) Abbott of Chesapeake, Virginia; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with services following at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Covenant Hospice for the love and care given. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Immanuel Baptist Church (4187 US Hwy 90, Pace, FL), Covenant Hospice, or Alzheimer's Association.
