Callie Cox Clifton, 80, of Bardin, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of Aulander, North Carolina and had lived in Putnam County for the past 33 years coming from Jacksonville. She worked as a bus driver for Putnam County School District for many years. Callie was an active member of Providence Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and drove the church van. She was also a member of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening. Callie especially loved being a mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Clifton, Sr., and granddaughter, Callie Jeanette Tennent. She is survived by her children, Carl Clifton (Karen), Coleman Clifton, Cindy Carmichael (Andy), Carla Johnson (Johnny) and Caren Herr, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church on Saturday, July 22, 2017 with Pastor Rudy Howard officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Providence Baptist Church, 141 N Providence Church Rd, Palatka, FL 32177.
