Elsie Lee Cribbs, 89, of East Palatka passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Sanford, Florida she has lived in Putnam County for 73 years. She was a Baptist and enjoyed shopping. Elsie was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Eugene Cribbs, parents, Eugene Oglesby and Margaret Ellen Moore, grandsons, David Clinton Wilkinson, Jr. and Christopher Andrew Cribbs, great-granddaughter, Shelby Marie Cribbs, sisters, Letha Vanhorn and Thelma Mitchell and brothers, Layton Oglesby and Harley Oglesby. She is survived by her children, Margie Murrow (Bulter), Margaret Wilkinson, James Cribbs, Franklin Cribbs, Archie Cribbs (Christine) Robert Cribbs (Carrie), Vernon Cribbs (Jamie Jo), Della Cribbs (Richard Kramer), Nelson Cribbs, Jr. (Teresa), Michael Cribbs and Jeffrey Cribbs (Patti), brothers, Freddie Oglesby, Oren Oglesby, Henry Oglesby (Shirley), Lewis Oglesby, Donald Oglesby and Joe Oglesby (Sharon), sisters, Sarah Flowers, Shirley Goodwin (Ricky) and Barbara Carter as well as 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. A. O. Johns officiating. Burial will follow at Bostwick Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the funeral home.
